ReadyYet helps small businesses send their customers live updates about a job. This page explains what information we hold, why, and what you can do about it. It’s written in plain English; if anything isn’t clear, email hello@readyyet.co.uk.
Two kinds of people use ReadyYet
- Businesses who sign up and pay for ReadyYet. For their account, ReadyYet is the controller of their information.
- Their customers, who get a live link or fill in a form. The business decides what to collect and is the controller of that information; ReadyYet stores and processes it for them as a processor. If you’re a customer, the business you visited is the best first contact for questions about your details.
What we hold about businesses
- Your login email and an encrypted password.
- Your business details: name, type, phone, address, logo, colours, opening hours, services and prices, form questions and messages.
- Billing: your subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
- If you turn on notifications, a technical address for your phone so we can send them.
What businesses hold about their customers
- Name, mobile number and email address.
- Jobs and bookings: the service, times, progress, photos and notes the business adds.
- Answers to the business’s new-client form (for example details about a pet, an item or a bike), and the name typed to sign it.
- Notes the business writes on the customer’s file.
- A record of the automatic emails sent (what, when and to which address).
Why we use it
- To run the service a business has signed up for: showing live job pages, sending booking and job emails, storing forms. (Contract.)
- To take payment and keep accounts. (Contract and legal obligation.)
- To keep ReadyYet secure and working, and fix problems. (Legitimate interests.)
We don’t sell information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t email customers marketing.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase: database, logins and photo storage (servers in Ireland, EU).
- Vercel: hosting the website (servers in Dublin, with a worldwide network for speed).
- Resend: sending emails (EU region).
- Stripe: subscriptions and card payments for businesses.
- Apple, Google and Mozilla push services, only if a business turns on notifications.
Where any of these move data outside the UK, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Business accounts: while the account is open. If you cancel and ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days (billing records are kept for 6 years, as the law requires).
- Customer information: for as long as the business keeps it. Businesses can delete a customer, and everything about them, at any time from their file.
- Live job links stop showing anything once a job is deleted or cancelled.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep a business logged in. Customer pages (live links and forms) don’t set any. Your phone may keep a half-finished form so you don’t lose your answers. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, so there’s nothing to accept.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it’s used. Email hello@readyyet.co.uk. If you’re a customer of a business using ReadyYet, we’ll pass your request to them and help them deal with it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels encrypted. Each business can only ever see its own customers. Live links and form links are long random codes that only work for that one job or form. Photos are private and shown through short-lived links.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell businesses by email before it takes effect.
